Liability: Neither the Gilpin County Arts Association nor the Colorado Watercolor Society nor their Officers, staff, or volunteers, nor any receiving or shipping agent will be liable for loss or damage to any artwork submitted to this Exhibition. Insurance of the artwork is the responsibility of the individual artist.
Use of Images: The Artist grants the Colorado Watercolor Society and Gilpin
County Arts Association permission to photograph artwork submitted to this exhibit, and Images of selected artwork may be used for publicity, including a catalog, web gallery, or slide show, at the discretion of CWS and the Gilpin County Arts Association.
Covid Waiver: The World Health Organization has declared the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) a worldwide pandemic. Due to its capacity to transmit from person-to-person through respiratory droplets the CDC has issued recommendations for individuals to reduce their risk of exposure to the novel coronavirus and has advised older adults and individuals with underlying health conditions to exercise special caution.
By entering this Exhibition:
• I am fully and personally responsible for my own safety and actions while and during my participation and I recognize that I may be at risk of contracting COVID-19.
• With full knowledge of the risks involved, I hereby release, waive, discharge the Colorado Watercolor Society, its board, officers, volunteers, independent contractors, affiliates, employees, representatives, successors, and assigns (collectively "CWS") from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death, that may be sustained by me related to COVID-19 while participating in any activity with the CWS while in, on, or around the premises or while using the facilities that may lead to unintentional exposure or harm due to COVID-19.
• I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CWS from and against any and all costs, expenses, damages, lawsuits, and/or liabilities or claims arising whether directly or indirectly from or related to any and all claims made by or against any of the released party due to injury, loss, or death from or related to COVID-19.
• I acknowledge I am at least eighteen (18) years old and fully competent to agree to this waiver and sufficiently informed of the risks involved in entering this Exhibition.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS . Paintings must be predominantly water media (watercolor, acrylic, gouache, casein or tempera on paper or synthetic paper (no canvas) completed within the last two years starting from Jan. 1 two years previous to present, and not previously shown in a juried exhibition in Colorado. . Artist’s original work only. No copies or likenesses of another artist’s work. No copies or partial copies of any published source whether copyrighted or not copyrighted. No copies of any published material on the internet, magazines, or newspapers. Use of photos must be your own taken by yourself. No use of other people’s photos even if given permission because it is their vision, not yours. No work done in a class or workshop or under the direction of anyone but yourself. Any collage material must be produced by yourself. No computer generated or digital art will be accepted. Original as defined in the Oxford Dictionary: existing from the first, earliest. being a thing from which a copy or translation has been made. firsthand, not imitative, new in character or design. Anything other than original is plagiarism. AGREEMENT / RULES / Read Carefully . The artist’s signature should appear on the front of the painting. CWS reserves the right to refuse any painting that does not comply with the requirements stated in this Call For Entry or does not match the submitted image. . Failure to comply with requirements and rules to meet any of the conditions may result in disqualification of your entry and ineligibility to enter future CWS exhibits for a minimum of two years and a rescinding of any award. . If selected by juror for show, you agree to grant permission to reproduce image for publicity or educational purposes. . If your work is accepted and you withdraw, or it does not meet any requirements stipulated, you will be disqualified and may not enter a show for two years. . Registration must be completed by submission deadline. All information provided, including price will be considered final and not changed after deadline. No exceptions. . Accepted artwork may not be shown or for sale in another exhibition, virtual or in person at the same time. Artwork must be on display for the duration of the exhibition. No exceptions. Failure to comply will result in a two year probation from entering any CWS exhibit and will also result in rescinding any award.
